Lady Lovely Locks 20th anniversary!!

YAY!! Since it's 2008, it's Lady Lovely Locks 20th anniversary!!
How time flies when we were only youngsters playing with our beloved toys. I am so gratefull that Lady Lovely Locks was always in my life, it makes me so happy!
Here is the place where you can share your childhood memories in celebration of LLL 20th birthday!

When i was young i only had a original LLL doll, a panini collectible sticker book and a omnibus comic book. And a set of LLL jewelery wich i can't remeber very well, i don't have those anymore. I cherisch my memories of that time very much. I got the doll on my birthday, don't know what age i was, maybe 4 or 5 or 6 and the day before i was so nervous that my mother hinted my father to get a present ot of the car for me (where they hide them Sticking out tongue ) already in order to stop my wining, and when i teared up the wrapping it was a LLL doll!! Laughing out loud I was so thrilled.

Also, when i got out of school, my mother always bought me some packages of LLL panini stickers for my sticker book and i would go happily into the garden and stick them in my book at a little table in the summer, what a time that was. Completely content.

And my father would read me the stories from my comic book every night before i went to sleep......Lovely!!
There, now you have my memories, tell me yours!

I wonder why everyone says that the kitty line belongs to LLL. The markings on the bottom of the dolls and kittys are quite different nor do they have the same appearance as LLL please explain how they are of the same toy line. Nowhere is there a Mattel marking on any of the dolls of the LLL line

Kittys

For example there where commercials, showing LLL and the kittens. You could see them, and they where mentioned.
I don't know if you can findthat comerical on www.youtube.com, but you can try. I've got it one the one tape I have. But I don't know how to put it on youtube - and anyway, I'm not sure that would be of much help, since it's in german.

For the marking. I've checked the few kittens I have. They where used when I baught them, so I don't now the marking they carried on their original boxes. But I believe they where produced by mattel. That's in all the commercials at least, and I think I rread something about it on wikipedia, too.
But the kittens are marked: 1988 T. C.F.C, INC
And if you look closely at the dolls, either at the back of their head and on the back of the torso, they carry the same, or very simmilar marking.
The Logo stands for 'Those Characters From Cleveland Inc. You can find that on the back of the dalls too.
that's the compnay that produced the original animates serie of LLL that started it all. Of course Mattel would have to give them credit. So they're marked that way. Because they wheren't based on ideas from Mattel.
So they have to give credit to the original holder of the copyrights.
The same goes with silkypup and the dragons. They're all marked the same way. Only Silkymane doesn't carrie any markings.
But I assume, that it was the same way with the hide and peaks, too. I don't own any of them. So I can't tell you that. But someone else around here might be able to, though.

And for the appearence.... I was a kid back at the 80th, since I'm now 23, and I remember that here were no other animals that had that kind of long, silky hair.
Of course there where the Keepers , but those came quiete a bit later, actually. And where altogether different.
But appart from that, there wasn't anything like those around, at that time. Not that kind of animals with that kind of hair. But it was the trademark of anything LLL.
Besides the castle and furniture and that kind of stuff. But I can't tell you how therey're marked.
But then again, some guys around here might be able to tell you if and how they're marked.

Hope that helped you a bit.

Picture explains all...

You explained it very well Alarda!!

By the way, all of the Hide 'n Peeks also have T.C.F.C. and a date on the bottom.

But Betty, if you look at this picture it might explain that the Ktties do belong to the LLL line!

Memorys.....

Thank you, Faylin. Smiling

But to come back to you original Toppic:

I remember ever wwanting the dall of thee Lady herself.
But no matter how I tried, I didn't get it....... Sad
I remember being to visit some collegue of my fathers with his familiy and they had to girls also. They had everything of LLL. I know we played with the stuff a bit. But everythng was hidden.... It was kinda stupid really. But the point is, that you really coudn't play with the stuff. Sad
They where kinda mean, looking back on it. Whanting something so badly and being so close to what you want and not even getting this one chance..... That was horrile. Propably the reason I never forgot it.
It always made me sad to think about it. WEll, until I got my own dolls, about 2 years ago. It's not the same as having them as a child, but strangly, it helped all the same.
Well, it just might've been a very deeply seated longing. Smiling

But I've very fond memories of the audio play. Wich was pretty much all I had of LLL at the time, apart from a few comics or magazins - whatever - that didn't survive though..... Sad
But I loved those tapes. I was missing nuber 3, 5 and 7 as a kid. I came across number 7 by chance as a teen - in a supermarket! Imagine! - And got the missing two aout two through ebay. Two or tree years back, I believe.....

So you see where I get that obsession with the audio play from. Sticking out tongue
I've heard it so often that I know large parts off by heart. Laughing out loud
