Rip-off DVD
In spite of having aired for only one season, the LLL series seems to have been considered successful enough to spawn a rip-off. (I accidentally stumbled across it while doing a search for Lady LovelyLocks in Dutch.)
This DVD has only two episodes, but they appear to be duplicates of
The Lake of Reflections and The Menace of Mirror Lake.
I'm actually going to acquire a copy this DVD just to see what the animation looks like. Although I would have preferred it if they made it like "Lady LovelyLocks - The Movie" or something that actually would have a beginning and an end... like Prince StrongHeart's curse getting lifted or what have you. ^^
Even so, I wonder how many people who see this DVD actually know about LLL. The title translates as "The Princess with the Golden Locks," but the artwork is pretty obvious. I hope the animation looks better though.
Anyway, if I manage to obtain a copy, I'll let you know more. (Hey, a rip-off is still better than nothing!)
Rip-off DVD turns out to be the genuine article!
I got my copy today of what I thought was a rip-off DVD, but it turned out to be the genuine article! I can't believe how lucky I got! The Lake of Reflections was really one of the episodes I was longing to see! Strangely enough, in my warped memory, I was so sure that after Lady LovelyLocks set the reflections free she briefly saw the reflection of Prince StrongHeart, but I guess that was just my imagination! ^^
Too bad the picture quality is rather low though. It looks like somebody's been shining a lamp on it. It's probably an illegal copy or something, that's why the cover illustration is a fake.
Another downside is that it's dubbed in Dutch, but it's not all that bad. Strange that they used different translations for the names though. Lady LovelyLocks is Prinses Mooihaar instead of Prinses Goudlokje, etc.
Also included are the animation fragments for the video offer that was on the original US tapes. It looks really strange with just an empty balloon and a nameless friend, but what the heck!
All in all, I actually got more than I bargained for! ^^ I'll post some pics later!

This DVD is kinda weird eh? I have it too, but i am very curious who you got that information from?
But first i thought it was a rip off too. I got home and watched it, but unfortunatly there was a wrong tape inside. It was a tape from the same "line" featuring "sleeping beauty". It had a fragment of the LLL video though. So i was very disapointed, but knew that it has to exist. But, i went and searched for that title on the inernet at Dutch sites and i found out that there were a lot of such DVD for sale! So i bought one and told other collectors that there was a LLL DVD available under the name of : De prinses met de gouden lokken. That's how i found out. Also it shows the episode The menace of mirror lake that i have stckers from in my LLL Panini sticker album!
I always thought i was the first one in my country who dicovered that DVD hehe
I was hoping to find a video from LLL here in The Netherlands because it was once broadcasted on television here, back in 1984-1985 i believe. But couldn't find anything on the internet from the series. It began at the fleamarket, So my eye got an a video that said: "De Prinses met de gouden lokken". I freaked!!!!

So nice to hear from you! I found out about the DVD just by using Google. When I read the episode synopsis on a commercial site, I was hugely suspicious of it, so I bought the DVD just to see what it really was. I'm glad I'm not the only dutch LLL fan who got it! I had no idea the series was ever broadcasted in the Netherlands though, I used to watch it on Fun Factory on the UK Sky Channel, probably around 1989. Hopefully more Dutch and Belgian LLL fans will read this and know to get the DVD, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for the complete series in a DVD box... with actual artwork on the package!

Yes, there was LLL on television here in the Netherlands, i still remember watching it as a kid, not much though. It has to be broadcasted very early in the 80's because i only remember flashes, so i had to be very young.
A LLL dvd box would be a dream come true isn't it? I actually emailed the "factory" who "made" that Dutch DVD. I explained that is from a series that was made in the 80's and asked them how they got it and if they could get more episodes. But unfortunatly they couldn't, it was the only thing they had. Too bad that company didn't have any more episodes, but at least it's good you wrote them, so now at least we know for sure. ^^
Yeah, the Biggest Ever DVD is great! I got practically all the screen captures in my gallery from it. I didn't buy it directly from Atlantic DVD though - I got it at eBay, but I'm sure their shipping is good.
I'll put more info on the site later - about which episodes are on which videos and DVDs, with synopsis and everything!

Confused on Ebay
Hello, I'm new to this website and just started getting back to some of my 80's roots. I was looking for that DVD (the Biggest Ever LLL) and couldn't find it on ebay, at least not the US ebay. Could you tell me the ebay seller's name or what the exact title of the item was that you bought? I'm trying to find the simplest (and hopefully most inexpensive) method for getting most or all of the LLL episodes I can. Any help you can offer would be great =). Thanks for sharing the DVD information. It made me inspired to find the set myself.

I didn't buy it off ebay. There are some people who visit the local shopping centers near where I live occasionlly and they had it there. They had a few more copies of it left.
